Aren't you lucky, today is a twofer in the blog department. Earlier today my mom called me and said that our cat Dory was acting strange so she was taking her to the vet. She called me this afternoon to tell me what the doctor said. Things aren't looking good. Her tongue is brown and her throat is bloody. She can't move her back end; they're running tests to find out what is wrong with her. My mom is afraid they'll have to put her to sleep tomorrow. My mom feels really guilty even though it isn't her fault; Dory had a mind of her own and if she wanted to go outside, you weren't keeping her from doing it.
This news today prompted me to reflect on all of my childhood pets. We have always been a family with tons of pets...any kind of pet..hamsters..guinea pigs...dogs and cats. Even today at age 22 it is hard for me not to take home any pet that crosses my path. Some of my fondest and earliest memories include pets. In the 5 years that we have had Dory, I have collected many fond memories of her and I hope to have many more!
